Easter

We had a very busy Easter this year. Since it was so early, it collided with the March birthdays, so we had two birthday parties this weekend as well as the Easter fun. See the slideshow above for pictures.
Saturday morning, we had the cousins, Bailey and Zack, over for our annual Easter tea. Yes, a tea party is pretty girly, but apparently the food is yummy enough that the boys have not complained. :)
The kids decorated their own cookies. Kaytie made a smiley face on hers, can you see it? Then they enjoyed strawberries, grapes, cookies, cupcakes, and cinnamon toast, all washed down with "pink" milk. Abbie had a blast, even though she could barely see over the edge of the table. The flowers were courtesy of Dad. :)
After they had eaten, they hunted for eggs in the bedrooms. Abbie didn't quite understand what was expected, so Daniel helped her. Which made her mad, of course. The other kids insisted on gender segregation. The boys hunted in the boys' room and the girls in the girls' room.

On Sunday, we went to church with Uncle Ken and Aunt Beth and the cousins (Lizzie and Bob). Then we took the kids' pictures in their fancy clothes. Their clothes were really "Christmas" clothes, given to us by the wonderful people from Grace Temple in San Angelo. It is not easy to get a picture of four little people in which everyone is happy, smiling, looking at the camera and NOT sticking fingers into any orfices (theirs or their siblings'). So these pictures aren't perfect, but they are the best we could get. This is the best one...

After lunch, the kids had a treasure hunt to find their baskets (given by Mom and Dad, not a bunny). They had plenty of cool new toys to play with and more than enough candy in their baskets.
In the midst of all the "fun" we talked a lot about the reason we celebrate Easter. The kids memorized Bible verses and we read the Easter story from all of our Bible story books and several books just about Easter. Easter is the most important holiday for Christians, because without the death and resurrection of Christ, everything else we do/believe would be meaningless.

Forgive me if this is a duplicate, I do not think my first comment sent. Sounds like you had a great Easter with your family. Very busy but I am sure worth it!
