It's not the Olympics, but...

Kaytie finished her summer semester of gymnastics last week. The last day is always something she looks forward to, because she can do whatever she wants for the whole hour, and they finish with a "picnic" of yummy snacks! I followed her around taking pictures. This semester, she moved up from Level 1 to Level 1.5 and she really blossomed! She learned to do her cartwheels almost perfectly.

This is her finishing up a cartwheel. My camera wasn't quick enough to catch her mid-wheel!

She got a lot of time on the bar, which is her favorite.

She can jump up and grab the medium bar by herself. She can pull her feet up and flip over the bar without help.

And she can swing upside down!

She was introduced to two bars this semester, and she set up the little wooden bar to show off for me.

Only a few years ago, when she was 2, 2.5, and 3, she was freaked out by the little "baby" balance beams (which you can see on the floor behind her in the picture), and even last semester, they made her a little nervous if she fell off. Today, I was standing and chatting with her teacher and Kaytie ran over and climbed up on the medium beam. She walked it all by herself, several times! I am very proud of her for conquering this fear! Even though she didn't even remember being afraid of the little beams.

She starts her next class in a couple of weeks.
